IAC ANNOUNCES CHAIRS AND LOCATION OF 2006 EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

Beaupre and Evans will lead conference in Williamsburg, Va

FAIRFAX, Va. – November 22, 2005 - The Industry Advisory Council (IAC) recently announced the chairs and location of its 2006 Executive Leadership Conference (ELC). The 2006 Industry Chair will be Jim Beaupre, President of JB Cubed, Inc. and the Government Chair will be Karen S. Evans, Administrator, Office of E-Government and Information Technology, Office of Management and Budget. The conference will also move to Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia from its location of the past six years in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Conference chairs are chosen each year by the IAC Executive Committee based on their significant qualifications and prior IAC contributions.

“Jim Beaupre and Karen Evans are both invested in the success of the IAC mission and dedicated to bringing the right people together for the right discussions that will lead to progress. We are certain that they will make ELC 2006 an enriching and memorable event,” said Ellen Glover, Chair of the IAC Executive Committee.

The conference’s move to Colonial Williamsburg will continue the transformation of ELC that began with this year’s new format of four separate conference tracks focused on specific topics. In the conference’s 15-year history, it has been held in Charlottesville and Richmond, Virginia and Hershey, Pennsylvania. Colonial Williamsburg was chosen as ELC’s next location by the IAC Executive Committee as it will add a rich dimension of American history and culture in one of Virginia’s most important and notable first cities.

“Colonial Williamsburg is a high-caliber venue that offers visitors the superior experience that ELC is known for,” said Glover. “ELC 2006 will provide a refreshing change of scenery and allow government and industry participants to focus on top-of-mind issues in a comfortable and convenient location.” ELC 2006 will take place at the new conference facility at Colonial Williamsburg on October 29 through 31, 2006.

About the American Council for Technology and the Industry Advisory Council

The American Council for Technology (ACT), a non-profit non-lobbying organization, was established in 1979 to assist government in acquiring and using information technology resources effectively and efficiently. Working with all levels of government, ACT provides education, programming, and networking opportunities that enhance and advance the government IT profession. In 1989 ACT established the Industry Advisory Council (IAC) to bring industry and government executives together to exchange information, support professional development, improve communications, and build partnership and trust, thereby enhancing government’s ability to serve the nation. ACT and IAC work together to provide an objective, professional and ethical forum where government and industry leaders can collaborate on addressing common issues towards a shared vision.
